On Monday, Casey County Sheriff Chad Weddle charged Jeffrey Carmickle, 22, of Liberty, with theft by unlawful taking under $500 and criminal littering.
Carmickle took mail from a mailbox on East 70 and threw it out on the side of the road.
Carmickle has been instructed to pick up trash/garbage on both sides of the road from the junction of KY 198 to N KY 501 on KY 70.
