A Madison County man arrested for shoplifting in Danville.

On Wednesday, Captain Casey McCoy with Boyle County Sheriff's Office was near Walmart when loss prevention reported a shoplifter fleeing from the store. McCoy spotted the suspect vehicle turning onto the bypass towards Stanford. A traffic stop was conducted and the suspect was identified as Anthony L. Clemmons of Berea. 

During the investigation, stolen items were found from Walmart and Hobby Lobby. Drug paraphernalia and suspected heroin was also found inside the vehicle. 

It was confirmed Clemmons had been trespassed from Walmart due to previous thefts. 

He's charged with:

• Driving on suspended license
• Burglary 3rd Degree
• Theft by unlawful taking U/$500 (2 counts)
• Possession of heroin
• Drug Paraphernalia

Clemmons was lodged in the Boyle Co. Jail.
