A Russell County man sentenced to a decade behind bars in connection to the death of his father.

42-year-old Eric Wayne Pendleton of Russell Springs, received a 10 year prison sentence on Tuesday for murdering his dad, 66-year-old Montie Pendleton of Dunnville. 

In August 2016, police responded to a shooting on Little Clifty Creek Road, just west of Russell Springs. They found Montie Pendleton lying in the driveway. He had been shot once in the head and was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Eric Pendleton pled guilty in June of this year. That's when the murder charge was amended to 1st degree manslaughter. 

The Russell County Sheriff's Department and Kentucky State Police investigated the incident.
